How to Configure Smart Connect on TP-Link Wi-Fi router?

  1. Verify the hardware connection and make sure your router is connected to the Internet.
  2. Visit http://tplinkwifi.net, and log in with your TP-Link ID or the password you set for the router.
  3. Go to Advanced> Wireless> Wireless Settings, and enable Smart Connect

But this is not true!!!

 

The worse you could do is to let the router to decide for you.

And the best you can do is you to decide over the router...

I've tested this so many times and smart-connection sometimes or very often choose itself a very bad channel over 5ghz or 2.4ghz that it really slow down the Internet... (facts).

 

Instead: for example let always 2.4Ghz on channel 6 and 5Ghz on channel 44 and you will get best speed and best coverage...

 

The smart-connection will not always choose best for you, and in my opinion: router's with Smart-Connection has failed to deliver best wifi speed!!!

Hi

 

I agree with you. The smart connect is not smart enough. I think the policy should give a advice to the wireless client but not kick it off directly if the client is connected to the router.

Hope tplink can provide a true smart connect for us.
