Hi all,

I'm trying to get IPTV multicast traffic to transfer between the Ethernet WAN and the Ethernet LAN ports on a TP-LINK TD-W8980 router. I have:

  • enabled IGMP Proxy and IGMP snooping
  • set up the WAN port to obtain an IP address using DHCP (and this works)
  • set up the LAN port to use a static IP address 192.168.2.2
  • tried various things like setting up port forwarding for port 22222 (I know that the IPTV multicast traffic is being sent on that port)

It doesn't matter what I do, I cannot get the IPTV multicast traffic to come out through the LAN - the LAN port has no IPTV multicast traffic on it at all. I can see the packets on Wireshark if I plug the IP streamer PC into the LAN side (Wireshark is monitoring the LAN side).

Is it possible to make the TD-W8980 do this, or not?

Regards and thanks in advance

Robin Terry
