slow speeds on TP-Link T6E AC1300 Windows 10
slow speeds on TP-Link T6E AC1300 Windows 10
Just got the TP-Link T6E AC1300 and noticed that the speeds are about 2x less than they should be. I moved the PC right next to the router and it is only getting about 100mbps down (upstairs it only got 20mbps), whilst my other PC which is all the way upstairs is getting 200mbps down.
Tried:
- Restarting router and PC
- Downloading latest drivers from the tp-link website (specifically from here)
- Moving around antennas and tightening them
I also went into the Network Adapter Properties to try to manually switch it over from the 2.4ghz band to the 5ghz band, but in Band Preference I only see 802.11a & 802.11g/b. There is no 802.11ac, which I imagine is the one I want to have selected.
It didn't allow me to select 2.4ghz or 5ghz in the drop down menu, just showed me the two network protocols i mentioned above.

@Captain918 Hello,
Please make sure other Wi-Fi client can good get speed from router first.
1> Did you install the latest driver on tp-link official website for Archer T6E? If not , please have a try.

@Chonk thank you!
Your solution worked like a charm! Need to remove the device first then install the official driver. Thanks!
