Hello everyone,
i have started a hotspot project in a rural city where services like internet goes back to 56K dial up modem and mobile edge,so to have all the system working together smoothly i have decided to use TP-LINK equipment, however when i installed and configured the system it runs but not as i expected, customers are having difficulties to connect to the network and signal also is very poor even when it comes to 15 meters close to access point, i am expecting to have more than 300 customers can use my network
I used the below equipment
1 - TD-8817 as ADSL Modem
1 - TL-WR642G as a wireless access point and a switch, one
2 - TL-WA5210G as outdoor access point,
I used the below configuration:
the ADSL Modem
192.168.1.1
the PC Server
1 - connected to the ADSL Modem by NIC 1 which has 192.168.1.2 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and default gateway 19.168.1.1 and DNS of ISP Provider
2 - the server has Antamedia HOTSOPT software installed with DHCP enabled and NAT enabled.
3 - connected to TL-WR642G by NIC 2 which has 192.168.0.1 and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
TL-WR642G
has a wireless enabled DHCP enabled as per the below configuration:
IP & subnet
192.168.0.2
255.255.255.0
Gateway
192.168.0.1
DNS of ISP Provider
DHCP enabled with the below IP Range
192.168.0.3
192.168.0.53
all the TL-WA5210G connected to the remaining switch ports of WR642G
AP 1 TL-WA5210G
connected to WR642G with the following configuration:
IP & subnet
192.168.0.254
255.255.255.0
Gateway
192.168.0.1
DNS of ISP Provider
DHCP enabled with the below IP Range
192.168.0.54
192.168.0.104
Antenna Setting
Manual with 4.4 KM
AP 2 TL-WA5210G
connected to WR642G with the following configuration:
IP & subnet
192.168.0.253
255.255.255.0
Gateway
192.168.0.1
DNS of ISP Provider
DHCP enabled with the below IP Range
192.168.0.105
192.168.0.155
Antenna Setting
Manual with 3.3 KM
AP 3 TL-WA5210G
connected to WR642G with the following configuration:
IP & subnet
192.168.0.252
255.255.255.0
Gateway
192.168.0.1
DNS of ISP Provider
DHCP enabled with the below IP Range
192.168.0.156
192.168.0.206
Antenna Setting
Manual with 2.2 KM
now all the 3 AP WA5210G are 10 meters above the roof and attached to the same pipe,
the Question is
1- Am i missing something or is there any incorrect configuration.
2- if i am expecting around 300 to 500 customers, how may users can use each AP in the same time, can use the routing option in all access point or should i install CISCO router to have different network segment like 192.168.3.1 or 192.168.4.1
3- is it a good idea to have extra AP WA5210G as a repeaters to eliminate some of the dead spots in the city.
4- if i use WA2415D Antenna will it be better.
