Hello,

 

I have installed a wifi range extender RE450 in a small guesthouse between 2 rooms.

Many people come with different devices all year long.

 

Since a couple weeks, I noticed some issues while trying to connect to wifi (mostly on the 5Ghz band).

 

Issues:

- error message: it says password incorrect but it's correct

- have to retry many times before it connects

- sometimes it won't connect to the 5Ghz, only the 2.4 

- 2.4 will be very slow

 

Anyway, something's definitely wrong. I'm wondering what's wrong, I have not changed anything, and it was working fine.

@MarcelN @TommyB TP link did reply 

- set deco's in AP mode

- Switch off fast roaming 

- no special chars in password ?  (THIS WAS THE SOLUTION)laugh

 

I haven't tried it out because the deco's are not in my own home. Try it later this day

 

 

-13-7 17:00 CET : leaving out the special char ! in the password did solve the issue. To me it is an issue of the DECO which TP-link denies. 

But none of the Iphones, Ipad's , Sonos, Huawei, Philips TV could connect with the ! in the password. And they al could when the ! was removed from the password.

 

TP Link first tell's me to remove special chars from the password, and then say it's unsafe NOT to use special chars surpriseindecision
