Hardware Version: V11
Firmware Version: TL-WR841N_V11_150616

Hi,

I have been using TL-WR841N V11 (Indian version)  from 2016. It never had any stability issue with WiFi until I upgraded one of my PC at home to Ubuntu 18.04. After that, whenever this machine is connected via WiFi to the router, the Wifi Stops working after some time (10min-24 hour interval). I am facing the same issue when another laptop which I had also got its OS updated to Ubuntu 18.04. Before the OS update, both the machines never had any issue with the WiFi router.

Once the WiFi freezes, I can't access the router's admin/setup page via WiFi until I restart the router manually using the button behind the router.

When I searched online, I found a fix listed in https://community.tp-link.com/en/business/forum/topic/99354 . The only issue is that this firmware is for EU version. But my router is not EU version.

Can anyone please help me fix this issue?

Thanks in Advance

Anyway, I fixed my issue. This was a problem associated with the QCA6174 chipset firmware with the latest Linux kernels in my laptop. So, had to upgrade the firmware on my laptop.

Instead of firmware-4.bin, I had to rename it to firmware-6.bin in my case.
