hi

 

Just bought a T9UH V2 adapter for my windows (laptop) 10 pro, 1903 laptop to connect to my samsung s10 mobile hotspot 5ghz network but it doesn't see it.  It can see the 2.4 when I hotspot mode in that.

 

The adapter can attached to my asus router 5ghz just fine.  the problem is just with my android phone.

 

I have a ipad and another windows 10 pro laptop which can connect to the 5ghz phone network.

 

in windows devices, it says it's working with the driver version 1030.27.425.2018

I've tried to install the drivers from the tp link website ( as administrator)  -Archer T9UH(EUUS)_V2_181023_Win

but I get an error just after starting the installer- "unable to load the specific files"

 

First off, should this work?

 

Are there any advanced settings I can try?

for everyone else with this problem, I bought a netgear nighthawk a7000 which works great with my s10 on channel 149.  my T9UH went back..

after further testing, it seems my new expensive wifi device can't see the channel hotspot 149 which my samsung is using for 5ghz!!

 

I used another android phone and that used a lower channel and the device found it.

 

So I need to either make my android phone use another channel which I think might be impossible, or I get the T9uh to see channel 149 somehow

Can anyone help with either option?

 

also, does anyone know where I can find technical details telling me what channels the t9uh does support?

@danb it seems your device is EU version, which is not support wifi channel higher than 140, this also happen with my t4u wink

Did you replace your tplink with another device or not bother with 5ghz?
