Hello,

Not sure if there is an existing topic already opened regarding this issue, if there is please link me to it.

I have purchased the Archer T3U Plus AC1300 usb wifi adapter to use with my desktop computer running Windows 10. At first the system did not recognize the adapter so I had to download the drivers from the website using another computer. The drivers were downloaded from the following link: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/archer-t3u-plus/#Driver

The adapter was working without any issues for a couple of minutes/hours and then I started losing my internet connection. Running Windows troubleshooting, the wifi adapter was reset and the reason that Windows gave was that "Default gateway not available". Similarly, If I unplug the adapter from the USB port and plug it back in, internet works again for a more couple of minutes. I've tried switching from all the USB ports - 2.0 or 3.0, front or back of the desktop - but they all gave the same result. The power saving options is disabled for the adapter as well.

I'm very close to the router and other laptops / phones in the house do not have any issue.

Could you please help me figure out why the adapter is always losing the connection?

Thank you.

@Kathy_Z Thank you for your reply.

Answering your questions:

1. 192.168.1.18

2. Here is the system specifications:

         Operating System: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (10.0, Build 18362) (18362.19h1_release.190318-1202)
      System Manufacturer: MSI
             System Model: MS-7917
BIOS: BIOS Date: 02/16/16 09:38:11 Ver: V1.13B0 (type: BIOS)
                Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4690K CPU @ 3.50GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.5GHz
                   Memory: 16384MB RAM
Card name: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970

3. The router is SAGEMCOM F@ST 3184

4. This router only supports 2.4GHz.

Your suggestions:

1. I did change from the default channel (position 6) to channel 1 with 20 MHz, as I only have access to 2.4GHz. it did not change the behaviour.

2. When acessing the site https://static.tp-link.com/2019/201911/20191128/00011389-RTLWlanU_WindowsDriver_1030.29.1102017_DUA_tplink_0719.L (1).zip I get the following message:

Please go to TP-Link Offical Website to get products, software and services for your region.

Visit official TP-Link website >

Could you please check?

Thank you.

@Kathy_Z Opening up the link gives me the same page. Right clicking and selecting Save Link as, the download fails due to Forbidden reason.

@Kathy_Z Hello Kathy,

I was able to download the drivers. I couldn't start the setup file since I get a NSIS Error - Error launching installer.

Nevertheless I was able to update the drivers using the ones on the Windows_10_64bit folder.

So far everything is working. If it stops working I'll try the static IP address. I'll advise you if the connection drops again.

Thank you,

@Kathy_Z As everything is working so far without any issues, I'll mark your post as the solutions. The drivers did it for me.

Thank you again for your support!
