Model: Deco M5
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.4.7 Build 20200725

I've recently updated the firmware on my Deco M5 devices (1.4.7 20200725) and since then my internet connection drops. The Decos' LEDs are red when this happens, and although my Plusnet Hub One router is still connected to the internet (LED stays blue as it should), it and the Deco M5 require a reboot to get everything back up and running again. This happens regularly, and almost like clockwork at 9.30 am, 1.45 pm and again at 10 pm. I'm in access point mode.

I've turned them off for a few days and relied on the Plusnet router only - no trouble. Everything else is as it was pre-firmware update.

Turn the Decos back on today - same issue.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

@TomH83

First idea is fill out the hardware and firmware version fields in your post...

@TomH83 Give Static IP to your Main Deco M5, sometimes when dhcp lease expires from the router it is unable to renew which can cause this issue.

Thanks for your reply. Is this possible in AP mode? I don't see an option to do this in the advanced. With my current setup (and with the Plusnet One Hub) I think I need to use AP mode rather than Router mode.

@TomH83 if deco is not allowing you to change the ip in ap mode, then you can use address reservation in your plusnet router to give it static ip and also try increasing the dhcp lease period of the router to check if the frequency of your problem reduces or not.

It seems fine when there's just the main Deco connected, but when a device connects to the network it drops out again. The same issue occurs when I turn one of the other Deco units on. Any ideas? Cheers, Tom
