Deco X60 5GHz band not working for one unit (3 pack kit)
Hello,
I recently bought a 3 pack DECO X60 kit.
After configuration and installation in 3 different rooms, I concluded that one of them works only in 2.4GHz band.
My configuration is simple, all units works as APs and all three are connected over Gigabit Ethernet to a main gigabit router.
I discovered this issue when I made a speed test with a Note 10+ phone, that reports me speeds over 700 Mbps on the other 2 deco X60 units.
I made many tests, the mesh switch to that unit correctly when I am closer to that unit, but the connection is reported to be as 2.4GHz (I use an android WiFi Monitor app to get detailed data about the connection) an the speed is limited at 97-99 Mbps. If I disconnect the power of this X60 unit, the phone connects the other unit in 5GHz band (reported by the WiFi Monitor app) and the speed increases to 250-300Mbps. When I am closer to the other two units the speed is over 700 Mbps.
Another test was to disable the 2.4GHz band for all units in the Deco App, and when I am closer to the this unit specific unit, the Wi-Fi connection is switched to, but disconnects repeatedly and could not connect anymore at the wi-fi, until I disconnect the power, and the phone connects to the other unit (in other room)
I tried also to remove that unit, reset it and reconfigure and add it in group, but the result is the same.
This strange behavior of this X60 unit was also with initial firmware 1.0.3 and also with the current one 1.0.5
I discussed to our local TP-Link support Hotline, and they suspects a faulty 5Ghz module / antenna inside this Deco X60 unit, and advice me for RMA.
Do you have suggestions?
BR,
Petre
