Model: TL-MR100
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 201016 Rel.35768n

I'm using BSNL 3G and they don't have 4G service here, the reason i bought MR100 is to free my usb port and connect thru ethernet.

MR100 is showing WCDMA as network type and i don't see any option to select other than "4G preferred, 4G only, 3G only" in Internet settings.

The Model spec says 3G: HSPA/UMTS: B1/B5/B8 (2100/850/900 MHz) are supported, but in reality it won't switch to any other Network Type other than WCDMA for 3G !!! and because of this, transfer speed are slower than old Huawei 3G dongle which won't connect slower than UTMS !!!.

In spite having external antenna and showing 100% signal strength,  WCDMA mode only, with RSSI value between -77 &  -71 dbm, i get maximum 2-3.5Mbps with speedtest and much slower transfer rates when downloading from dropbox !!!!.

Huawei 3g dongle with 58% signal level is on HSPA+ mode and on average getting anywhere from 5-8Mbps download, this is actual file download speeds from dropbox. When the signal is lower, Huawei device switches to HSPA or UTMS mode and transfer speeds drop accordingly.

Anyone else facing the same issue ?. Are there any beta firmware i should try ?.

Update:

Borrowed a 4g Jio sim, auto config don't work, after manual configuration, router say connected to internet, but can't even ping 8.8.8.8 !!!!.

ISP: null
SIM Card Status: SIM card prepared.
Network type: 4G LTE
Band: 40
Signal Strength: 100%
RSRP: -96dBm
RSRQ: -11dB
SINR: 8.0dB

Tried to downgrade the firmware back to Build 200617 without success.

Tried calling TP-Link support few times, was in the queue for 3-5 mins each time.

Sent email to TP-Link support on 17th-November-2020, follow up a day later, no reply till now.

Have decided to return the product.
