TP AX1800 with DHCP off : Wireless devices can't connect
Background
- Since the wireless signal from my home router (connected to the ISP) is not reaching specific parts of the house, i decided to buy an AX1800 and connect as a "bridge", by bridge i mean having the AX1800 as a switch without DHCP.
- To do that, i connected both routers via the normal ports (not WAN), but DHCP still on. The connection was bad, i had some packet loss and the ping got higher!
- So, i decided to disable DHCP on the AX1800 which allowed better connection on the wired devices.
- I am not using AP mode (for many reasons).
Problems
- After turning off DHCP, wired devices connect excellently but wireless devices can't connect at all to the AX1800, why?
- Which uplink port should be used on the AX1800 to the home router?
- Should NAT be on/off?
Thank You.
