Hi, I have purchased a TD-WL1043ND to extend my range around my house and take the load off of my TD-W8960N, as I am running 15-20 wireless devices at one time (eg. printer, 3 tablets, 2 laptops, 2 PC, IP survalance cameras, Games consoles, TV, Stereo...). So, I have set up the WR1043ND as per the CD, I remove the ethernet cable connecting the TD-W8960N to the TL-WR1043ND, and they no longer talk to each other, I dont want a wireless router sitting next to a Wireless Modem Router, it defeats the whole purpose of having wireless in the first place. I am surprised that the install cd doesnt cover this in the config stage. I have followed This Guide which sort of helps, but the WR1043ND has a much more advanced menu, I can get them to bridge, but then I have an open modem / router with zero security (not good). Can someone walk me through the set up of a secure wirless bridge correctly?

Thanks,
Mat

Hi Jim, Thanks for your response. There are a few thing I dont understand in the proccess. So ill start from the top.
Set my W8960N to Bridge mode (not access point) ***If I do this I Cant survey the 8960N's MAC from the 1043ND?
Select channel 1?
plug my PC's Ethernet cable in to the WR1043ND's LAN port, and nothing in to the WAN port?
Set up the WR1043ND's WPA/WPA2 security to keep it safe?
Set WAN port settings to PPPoE and enter my ISP username and Password.
Set eo channel 1?
Dissable DHCP?
I cant Survey the 8960N due to bridge mode.

What next? Where am I going wrong.
Can you please start from the top with detailed steps?
