Model: Archer C7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: openwrt 19

I recently purchased an Archer C7 v5 as it seemed like the best option for OpenWRT.

One of the unexpected surprises was OneMesh support meaning I'd only have to get a OneMesh range extender instead of a pack of D9 or alike.

So I installed OpenWrt and then purchased a RE300 as well.

Sadly, I now understand "OneMesh" seems to be not only the hardware support for mesh but also a specific mesh protocol...

OpenWRT supports 802.11s (on my Archer C7). There's no openwrt for RE300 (otherwise I'd probably be able to link them both with 802.11s).

Any hints on how to create a mesh between these 2?

If not, is OneMesh open? Would it be possible / is there a technical specification if one would be interested in adding support for it to OpenWRT?

Thanks
