Hey guys, how are you?
I just bought a brand new N750 (4300) and I don't know exactly how it works because my english is terrible.
First thing, I have the dual band adapter on my pc too (TL-WDN4800).
I'm about less than 10 meters from the router, but there is some walls.
My questions are:

1- When I set up the network should I put different SSIDs for 2.4 and 5? Or need to be the same?
2- When I go to connect I don´t see the 5 network, just 2.4 (macOS see the 5), why? The mac in my side can see the 5 network. But windows 8 not.

in the beginning I was thinking that the connection could change automatically beteween 2.4 and 5 but when I saw that my mac recognized the 5 separated my mind blows...
Please help me.

I use two different names and that's completely fine, because they are two separated networks . I think the problem is that 5GHz wireless network is much more vulnerable to interference, and the wall block the 5GHz signal. You may consider replacing the router.

Dualband with auto-balance
2013-08-14 03:22:39
Hi Pmurad,

Your devices/computers which are using 2.4GHz and also they don't recognized 5GHZ because they are not compatible with 5GHZ.

For example, it is happening with my iphone4S, however all compatible devices with 5GHz will be able to see two wireless network (2.4 and 5 GHZ).

I believe my comments above answer your doubts, but, there is a question that none answerd to me.... How configure N750 to enable its manage Dualband with preference use for 5GHz?

Because till now, I know how do a manual balance, but I had expectation that the router should do that.

Thanks!

I have a similar problem with my new WDR-4300. I am setup for dual band operation with a Linksys high performance dual band adapter. However, inSSIDer show four signals with only one as connected. This is very confusing to me. I really don't know if the router is running in dual mode. I believe it has to do with the limited range on the 5 Ghz band. I am 25 feet and one wall away from the router. I am currently looking into installing a high gain, directional antenna to see if it can boost the transmitt speed on the higher band with more bars at the reciever. I am having problems determining which output is the 5Ghz antenna hooked to ( see my other posted thread)

Have you guys enabled "broadcast SSID" on the web utility? And the antennas of WDR4300 should be dual-band ones, if you want replace them , you should replace with dual-band ones. Otherwise it may not work.
