Model: TD-W9970
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version: 1.0.0 0.9.1 v009f.0 Build 190419 Rel.34272n

Folks,

If I set my TD-W9970 up as a modem only device  and later want to get back as a router do I have to reset the device or can it still be accessed via a web interface?

Appreciate the default is 192.168.1.1 as a router but unsure as to how management is achieved when set as a modem

@Geffers

If you use it as a DSL router with PPPoE session configured then it should be enough to re-configure as wireless router via WebGUI (192.168.1.1)

If you use it as a DSL router in Bridge mode then it might not be accessible on it's WeGUI so just reset and re-configure.

As a general rule if you can't reach it via WebGUI (192.168.1.1) from inside your LAN, then reset and re-configure at your desire.

@terziyski   It does still show up under the default ip address.

As mentioned in another thread but I shall repeat here in case someone reads it; my TP-Link router is connected to a powerline (homeplug) adapter so the laptop I amusing for configuration need not be in the same room as the router, makes it very easy.
