Hi, I recently purchased AX20 and it works more than good, in a meantime i change internet provider

so now I will have optic in home :), from 1. jun

Company installed GPON Huawei HG8245H as their ONT, my question is which configuration you recomends

 

1. HG8245H in bridge mode to AX20,

2. HG8245H as router AX20 as AP (will ehernet ports work also?)

3. HG8245H as router, AX20 as router 

4 something else

It depends on your requirements:

 

1) That's if your want to use only one main wi-fi router - AX20.

2) That's if you want to extend your w-fi coverage in your home using HG8245H as a main router and the AX20 in AP mode.

3) That's possible, but not recommended because of the double NAT introduced.

4) None that I know of.

I want to have max from equipment

and if I understood corectly, it is better to stronger (AX20) router do the routing

am I right?

 

it is my home so I can try, and see what is better

Yes,

1-st scenario is preferable given the fact that AX20 is a newer, Wi-Fi 6 capable router and if its wi-fi can cover the entire premises.

If you have a dead spots and need more wireless coverage in your home, you can use the 2-nd scenario.

one important thing is that WIFI is not first priority

I would like to have on 2 desktops ethernet as fast as possible

 

they are in room with AX20 which has ethernet cable connection to ONT (HG8245H) connected by optics
