Hello!

I recently bougth a new TD-W8970, my old one did not have parental control.

I want my children to have full internet acess between 08 am to 9 30 pm, after that no access.

Ip adresses for them appears in drop down menu, so thats ok. (copy pasted)

Schedule set to start time 08:00 and end time 21:30 each day, internal time checked on device.
Blue dots i schedule from 8:00 to 21:00, ok.

Problem is that as soon I turn on parental control, they lose all internet acess....(as soon as i save)
Despite of time set in the schedule.....

Users guide gives no tip in this case, browsed around for help...but did not found any solution.

Hi,PatrikD :
the parent control must be used with URL filter; And the URL filter is a white list, so if you leave it blank, children can not access the internet.

Just use Firewall

You can achieve what you need just using the Firewall feature.

The use case is: as a parent I want to restrict my children from accessing the internet at all between certain hours. When the children do have access then they should be able to access *any* site.

Using firewall is not a satisfactory solution for typical home user as will requires setting up DHCP to ensure each device always picks up the same IP address.

Much better would be to have implemented parental controls *without* mandatory whitelist so that device MAC addresses (which are persistent without any other config) are used.
