Hi,

I plugged in a Seagate USB 3.0 external hard drive into the router to test throughput. I was disappointed to get only 2.3MB per second whilst copying a 1GB test file. Is this to be expected?

FYI, I get figures of 20MB/sec from my cheap D-Link NAS and 70MB/sec from my Windows server on the same network. All the tests were done by copying the file to a SATA3 SSD in one of my Windows 7 PCs.

Paul.

I don't think this has anything to do with Network Address Translation. I'm measuring the throughput of files transferred from a USB hard drive connected to the router, sent via SMB/CIFS over the internal switch to a Windows 7 client on the LAN.

This is purposefully locked by TP-link. I hope all modems with usb port support only usb1.1 standard which has max transfer rate of 12 Mbps. TP-link should release a firmware upgrade for this.
