Model: Deco X60
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version:

Hi
One of my Family member is complaining from his home internet speed

His internet plan is 250mbps FTTP fiber connection,
connecting lan cable from ISP router to wan port in TP AX11000 router
then one cable from TP AX11000 lan port to Main deco X60,

then to Giga port switch to other deco X60 nods.

ISP router>>AX11000 router >> Main deco X60 >> Giga port switch>> other X60 nodes

the issue he is getting full speed in main deco, but when going to upper floors i am getting only 35 mbps even through wired connection.

His is using Cat6 A cables,Rj45 Modules, Patch cords all these are cat6 A.

The wifi is disabled on ISP router and TP AX11000 router, the only Deco X60 wifi SSID are enabled.

He have 12 Nodes of deco X60.

Please Advise

@Makharthi

Initial troubleshooting steps, that will include checking if wired Satellite Deco is actually using Ethernet backhaul, if Ethernet wiring is good, is his WiFi device connected to wired (not wireless) Satellite Deco, and if 2.4GHz or band steering throttles speed test.

List of tests.

1. For each wired Satellite Deco, check in Deco app what does it show under Signal Source. The image below means Ethernet backhaul is used:

If you don't see Ethernet - the switch could be first suspect. You can stop with tests, and focus on switch. See General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco

2. Attach laptop or desktop with Ethernet network card, by Ethernet cable, to second port of one of wired Satellite Decos you are testing speed with. Run speedtest on laptop/desktop. If you are getting up to 250Mbps on laptop/desktop, which is his Internet plan, Ethernet wiring from that Deco and all way to Internet works as expected.

If it is a laptop that can be easily moved from one place to another, I suggest running same test on each wired Satellite Deco.

3. Turn off all wireless Satellite Deco. Try speedtest on wireless device that is connected to one of now for sure wired Satellite Decos.

4. Turn off 2.4GHz in Deco App, for Main Network and for Guest Network (if Guest network is enabled). Still keep wireless Satellite Deco turned off. See if device that is now forced to connect to 5GHz (and with band steering disabled) show better speed.
