Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 210208 Rel.61056n

I have connected my router to the old one from my provider.

Now I have some clients which use the DHCP server from the old device.

Is there a way to block the messages or configure my router as main model?

my config:

- working mode: 3G/4G-Router

Your ISP router is probably locked (see this thread - https://forum.openwrt.org/t/unlocking-huawei-ha35-22-hybrid-modem-dsl-lte/34302).

That's the reason for disabled options that you see in there.

Right now you have 2 independent ISP devices:

1. Your old ISP router.

2. Your MR600 device with another SIM provider.

There's no \way to connect them both to each other and have redundancy combined with using their summarized bandwidth.

In general if you want to do that you should use an additional equipment like these load balancers.

Here's an example configuring a load balancer.

I think that if you've found DOCSIS 3.1 with 1000Mbit/s provider, it would be the best way to go (for better bandwidth and stability) instead implementing forementioned scenario.

unfortunately, the old router from my provider is not configurable that much like the new one

therefore I can't disable DHCP for example

Disabling DHCP server on the old ISP router is mandatory to be able to work as an access point.

Sometimes there's an option to use an external DHCP server where you can point to MR600 IP address, but that depends on the make, model and firmwasre of the device.

Thank you for clarification.

I thought I missed a config.

Isn't a router splitting a network into several subnetworks so each has own IP range or am I mixing things?

Let me explain in details.

For example:

If your main router is with LAN IP address 192.168.0.1 its DHCP server will serve IP addresses in 192.168.0.0/24 subnet.

If your old ISP router is with LAN IP address 192.168.1.1 its DHCP server will serve IP addresses in 192.168.1.0/24 subnet.

If their LAN IP addresses are both in the same subnet e.g. 192.168.0.0/24 then you should disable the DHCP server on one of them, so their client devices could be served from only one DHCP server on that same subnet - that's the "AP mode" scenario I was writing about.

If you don't mind the double NAT in your network then you should be fine in the "both devices in router mode" scenario, devices connected like MR600 LAN port => old ISP router WAN port. In this scenario every router's DHCP server will serve IP addresses in its own subnet.

thank you for the details

I noticed that I used the term wrong, sorry.

my ISP serves 10 and my TP uses 192 and some devices are still getting the responses for the 10-network.

so they are not in the same subnet but the clients are still getting wrong IP addresses...

OK.

So you have an old ISP router in 10.x.x.x subent. Is it 3G/4G router as well, it's a DSL modem router or just a wireless router ? What's the make and model ?

You have a new MR600 in 192.x.x.x subnet which is in 3G/4G mode.

What are you trying to achieve exactly by connecting the MR600 to your old ISP router ?

Describe those in details so I can offer an adequate solution for your topology.

According to my ISP it is a Huawei HA 35-22.

But as far as I could see it is modified very hard BC most options are only described but not available.

There is also a internet TV connected which is probably the reason why DHCP is not possible to disable and it feels it uses most of the bandwidth (mentioned below).

It is in hybrid mode so there is a SIM inside but it doesn't not have operating modes.

As far as I heard from descriptions it prefers phone cables and adds on peak times mobile data / only a percentage to my cable bandwidth (xDSL).

Theorcially my bandwidth is about 12MBit/s and with 4G about 20MBit/s.

(I hope I don't mess up units)

My new model has mobile data only but without data limitations - so it is everything 4G can get (which was mostly around 30-50 if I remember correctly).

My goal is a fast internet with a stable connection.

The stability from cable and speed from my SIM.

Also avoiding switching all the time if one is bad.

If it is not possible it is also fine, I found out few days ago that a different provider offers DOCSIS 3.1 with 1000Mbit/s.

Thank you so much for your help!

Thank you for your help!

theoretical both use the same provider and I was also thinking about giving the SIM from the new in the old device.

but I think it doesn't matter in total, because the bandwidth and stability won't be as good as the new offer.

so I'll take that option

If both SIM cards belong to the same provider give it a go before taking the new option. It may be enough as a speed.
