Hi there

I am very new to this networking world and there are a lot of things that I don't understand.

I need some assistance from you to help me setup a modem router Archer VR600  v2 as access point of repeater. I am not sure what information I should share here. But, my root router is DIR-830M AC1200 and the default gateway is 192.168.1.1. I've tried to configure the Archer as wireless router but the internet always showing disconnected. Able to connect to my SSID but without internet connection. Please guide me. Thank you.

When VR600 is configured as wireless router use it's LAN4/WAN port to connect to DIR-830M LAN port (VR600 WAN Settings - Dynamic IP):

I tried as per your advice but still not able to access the internet. I wonder if the SSID must carry the same name as in the root router. For your information, after setting the operation mode to Wireless router, I disabled the DHCP and change the IP address in this second router. Hope you will be able to guide me further. Thank you.

@Sunny1978

Login VR600, set its LAN IP address to 192.168.0.1, enable its DHCP server (192.168.0.100-192.168.0.199) and reboot it.

Its SSID should be different than your main router so you'd know at any time to which router you've been connected.
