WDS Bridge not work with 5 GHz

Hello Forum,
I have a little problem with my Archer C7. I would like to connect the Archer C7 with my Fritzbox 7390 (192.168.178.1) via WDS Brideging.
I set under Network > LAN following IP: 192.168.178.3 and disable DHCP.
WDS Bridge with Fritz 7390 works well with 2.4 GHz Wireless. I put a manual channel 9 and standard b+g. I’m able to connect with the TP-Link_2.4GhZ-Wireless and connect to 192.168.178.1.
But, if I disable Birdge for 2.4 GHz and use 5 GHz with WDS Bridge, the connection doesn’t work. If I use the button “survey” I see the 5 GHz Fritzbox. Furthermore if I connect with TP-Link_5GHz, the connection doesn’t work well, when I connect to 192.168.178.3. I get often abruptions or the connection to TP-Link_5GHz doesn’t work every time. In TP-Link5GHz and Fritz 7390 a define the manual channel 48 and Standard a+n
What could be the problem?

Try N only and AES only...

Hi,
I try WPA+WPA2 with AES.
Regarding Standard n, in Fritzbox I can only use n+a and in Archer 7 ich can only choose between an mixed and a+n+ac.
If I open the configuration of Fritzbox, I can look, which wireless a in the neighborhood. The Fritzbox can only see the 2GHz from TP-Link and sometimes 5GHz. Doesn't normally the 5GhZ with the external antennas should be better/stronger as 2.4GHz???
Best Regards from Germany

No, 5GHz is not stronger than 2.4GHz, only less polluted by the neighbours.
On my Linksys E3000 with DD-WRT bridged from my main router TP-Link WDR4900, I get a better signal and better throughput with 2.4GHz...

Hello,
thanks for your fast answer. In an other forum, I discuss about the same problem.
My idea was to connect the right appartment (wohnung) with the office (büro). Therefore I buy the TP-Link Archer. See graphic for an overwiev:
For information. I disable the fritzbox 7270. I connect directly with fritzox 7390. A bridge with 2.4GHz to the Fritzbox is possible, but a little bit slow. 5GHz doesn't work. See TP-Link configuration:
If I put the Archer C7 to the outer window ledge, then I get 18db for 5GHz, but the bridge isn't working. Furthermore a connection to the 5GHz ist often not possible.

Why did you disable the 7270?

From the appartment I have nearly the same signal intensitiy to 7270 and 7390. Therefore I disable the 7270.

OK, but take care if you use 2 wired AP, you have to set 2 channels separated by 4 (20MHz bandwidth) or 8 (40Mhz bandwidth) to don't have overlapping.
For the 5GHz, I suggest you to test near the AP in order to identify if the distance is not responsible...

If I sit in the appartment and connect with my notebook to 5GHz TP-Link (approximately 5-6 meters with direct intervisibility) a connection is not possible.
I try with automatically IP assign and with not automatically:
IP: 192.168.178.77
Sub: 255.255.255.0
Gateway: 192.168.178.3 (Archr C7)
Because DHCP is disabled on TP-Link, and if the connection (Bridge 5GHz) to Fritz 7390 not established, the my notebook don't get a IP. Now, the TP-Link works with a Bridge to Fritz 7390 over 2.4GHz and Bridge for 5 GHz is disabled. A connection to TP-Link 2.4GHz works and I can reach 192.168.178.1. But a connection with 5GHz TP-Link is furthermore not possible.

Did you test your notebook access without encryption and without MAC filtering?

Okey, I try it this afternoon. But the encryption is the same between 2.4GHz TP-Link and 5GHz TP-Link. Furthermore, I can connect with my notebook to the 5GHz Fritzbox.
I inform you, when I test it without encryption. MAC filtering is already disabled. I reset the TP-Link and make only changes on following topics:
- Network > Lan to 192.168.178.3
- Disable DHCP
- Changes on 2.4/5GHz Wirless > Wireless settings (see screenshoots)
- 2.4/5GHz Wireless > Wireless security (WPA2/AES)
I use a ThinkPad T410 with "Intel(R) Centrino(R) Ultimate-N 6300 AGN" as wireless
