Hi all,

I am on BT900 FTTP (UK) and using their typical ISP supplied Smart-Hub 2.0, which doesnt allow me to do anything worth mentioning, I cant even turn of Wifi-X when done via your account (its still broadcasting as a 'hidden SSID' on the exact same channel), - I cant split 2.4Ghz and 5.0Ghz into two seperate chanels, only 4 x 5Ghz channels options and all my neighbours are on every single one available, you cant disable IPv6, you cant incorperate a VPN service, you cant change MAC address, no good QoS, I cant enable my own option of DNS or even 'encrypted DNS', I cant see advanced line stats like you could on xDSL... just really poor... and some of the GUI's ive seen on some recent routers look like going from BIOS to UEFI!!

Im after a good router - i only have 2x Wifi 5 devices (TV and Mobile) - I'd like a one that will let me also install 3rd party FW like DD-WRT/Tomato etc and comes with a plethora of options

im looking to spend around £150 (give or take) - even 2nd hand if cheaper.

can anyone recomend anything that can do this?, and work directly connected to the UK FTTP Modem supplied by Openreach

many thanks in advance.
