Hi,

My switch on the first floor of my house is connected to my SKY broadband router (situated on the gound floor) by an ethernet cable. Can I extend my wi-fi using an some form of extender connected to a spare port on the switch?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated and any recommendation for which extender to use would be helpful

thank you

You have several option to do that.

1. A dedicated Access Point device.

2. Wireless router in AP mode.

3. Range Extender in AP mode.

Either of these would do the job, you need just to select an appropriate device according to your needs considering:

1.Ethernet port bandwidth - 100/1000 mbps.

2.Wireless standard - n/ac/ax.

3.the range that should be covered by the device.
