Hi All,

Appreciate your advice

I was bought TL-MR6400 on July 2022

Start last month (October 2022), the signal strength always below 25%

1. Always in the same spot

2. Always using the same ISP event the same data package

Have been tried:

1. Reset the router -> still the same

2. Plug out, plug in -> still the same
3. Used custom profile APN -> still the same

4. Tried to insert the card in my smartphone, got full signal. Then used for tethering and run smoothly

4. I bought another card (different telco), plug in to the router -> still 25% signal and slow (well working fine in my smartphone)

  @d3nny

Hi, it is recommended to check which network type and band the MR6400 uses on Advanced->Status page.

Then insert the same SIM card into your phone and check which band your phone is using:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/3488/

If they are working on different bands, please try to change the band manually on the MR6400 to see if the signal will be improved:

By the way, please note that the MR6400 is a LTE Cat4 product, which doesn't support 4G+, if your phone works on 4G+ or even 5G, it would be normal that the MR6400 speed would be slower than your phone.

  @Sunshine

Thanks for your response and your suggestion

Yups, my phone works on 5G. Just noticed this router is LTE cat4

I had tried your suggestion, and create manual profile:
1. Manual band selection (only choose one)

2. Manual network selection

3. Change the APN

For now the signal strength around 25 - 50%. Now, should much better.

Thanks
