hi i want to open a port on my router, and map it to file zilla, port 21 i think, but i cant seem to get it to work, i have no-ip.org set up to update my dynamic ip adress to a url, i'm getting a timeout when i try to log in to it tho, i'm not sure if i'm forwarding the ports properly.

also i have enabled the firewall "incoming , all ports, all ip's" to block the incoming traffic, i'm not sure if i now have to create a rule for the ip on the port that im trying to access,

please help peeps, i love this thing.

Hi.
Have you set a static IP on the device which you want to remotely access? And you can also double check the port numbers.

Then you can find out the WAN IP on the Status page of TD-W8970, and then try if you can use http://WAN IP:Port to remotely access the internal device from a external computer.

Note: To remotely connect to the internal device, the WAN IP should be a public IP. If the IP address is one of 172.16.x.x-172.31.x.x, 192.168. 0.0-192.168.255.255, 10.0.0.0-10.255.255.255, it shows that the IP address is a private IP address, not public IP.
