Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 211230

I purchased this M7000 MiFi Hotspot device a few months ago and when I tried to connect to the WiFi network more recently, it wasn't connecting properly with DHCP. I tried rebooting the MiFi, but found I needed to manually set IP Address to 192.168.0.x to connect to it. First problem.

 

From there it seems like the device won't factory reset properly. I've tried 20 times resetting with the reset button on the back as per manual, tried clicking Factory Reset in the iOS app and from the web page 192.168.0.1 and also tried updating the firmware, but it won't work, the lights flash as though it's doing a factory reset, but each time it just comes back with the same settings like the reset failed. Any ideas?

 

Very disappointed this device has become so unreliable.

Hi, may I know what settings you've changed? Such as Wi-Fi name and Wi-Fi password? you mean they are still the one customized by yourself instead of the default name and password after factory reset, right?

 

In addition, may I know if all your client devices need to set static IP address to connect the wifi? what client devices do you usually connect to it?

  @Sunshine I've tried to change all sorts of settings such as logs, wifi strength, wifi name, etc. and yes the customised name's and other settings all stay the same on factory reset.

 

Yes any client device needs a static IP address before it will connect. I'm normally connecting with iPhone 12 and MacBook Air. Also tried connecting with a Windows PC.
