Model: Archer A7
Hardware Version: V5
Firmware Version: 1.2.1 Build 20220714 rel.75573(4555)

Hi

I have 500Mbps connection from my ISP but wired connection from my router doesn't go over 100Mbs.

All cables are Cat6, tested and working as expected. When Archer is set to Access Point mode the speeds are going up to 500Mbps (which again confirms cables are good) but when switched to Router Mode the connection drops to 100Mbps.

I have no parental control enabled. QoS is disabled too, Full Duplex 1000.

When testing over WiFi speed goes over 300Mbs - which as much as I can get from my phone.

Any help would be appreciated. I really need it working full speed in Router mode.

Are any other settings I can try to fiddle around before dumping this thing into a bin?

  @terziyski

Thank you,

I have 1000Mbps negotiated on all 4 LAN ports. However, I did notice it goes to 100Mbps when I switch cable from one port to another. So, the setup requires full power cycle (PC, Router restart) for it to negotiate it up back at 1000Mbps.

While if didn't solve the connection speed limit I've made it my mission to fix it or dump this week.

In the end there is one checkbox that resolved the issue for me:

In Advanced -> System Tools -> System Parameters in section NAT I checked the Enable NAT Boost. This fixed it. I can now enjoy full speed in Router mode.

Strangely enough if I disable it back it doesn't go back to 100Mbps speed limit but to about 250Mbps or so.

Nevertheless, this ticket I consider solved.

  @QuietNoise

Check your wired port negotiated speed here:

If it is capped @100mbps use another ethernet cable (Cat5e/6) or use another LAN port to see if it connect @1000mbps.
