Will I get the same fast speeds as a AP?
Always used it default non AP

You will get the same WiFi speeds.
This configuration change applies to Deco mesh, not to individual Deco units. After you follow steps from the document I shared your Deco mesh, all its units, will run in Access Point mode.
If you find issues with running Deco mesh in Access Point mode, you can easily revert it back to its default Router mode.
