I Have a problem with my TP-Link VR900 v3 with Firmware 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0069.0 Build 170303 Rel.59897n. In any case the router says it’s the latest.

All works great except I cannot access the router remotely, I just get ‘403 Forbidden’ error. I have a static IP and have enabled Remote Management (also via HTTPS which gives port 443, although I get an error saying this server doesn't support SSL). I have also downloaded and installed a certificate all to no avail. I’ve tried remote access from 3 different ISPs and had more re-starts than Frank Sinatra’s career !

I’ve also tried enabling and disabling local HTTPS again to no avail. My router doesn’t seem to have ‘HTTP Referer Head Check’ whatever that is ?

Using the same Laptop but with my old TP-Link TD-W9970 otherwise all the same hardware I get no problem – it works perfectly!

What am I missing?

  @Batfrog

There's a newer FW release for VR900 v3 here. You should update it manually - details (you're aiming a Local upgrade).

Configuring Remote Management:

To be able to manage VR900 remotely you should have your public IP address on your VR900 Internet IP address:

You can check your public IP address typing in Google "what's my ip address" an compare with the Internet IP address in the screenshot above.

If this was helpful click on the arrow pointing upward to make it blue. If this solves your issue, click the star to make it blue and mark the post as a "Recommended Solution".

  @terziyski  EXCELLENT THANK YOU VERY MUCH !

I only got this router fairly recently and I must admit I didn't actually check manually for firmware upgrades, rather I depended on the 'Check for Upgrades' link in the router interface.

Great Thanks again.
