Hi All

I have just installed my 705x extender and I am very pleased with the results in what were previously dead zones.

However, I would like to know if it is possible, when taking an android phone back into a room where my router WiFi router signal is strong, for my phone to auto disconnect from the extender WiFi and auto connect back to my router WiFi in order to get take advantage of the higher speed? Currently I have to manually connect back.

Maybe it is only possible with a third party app? If so, does anyone have any recommendations?

Thanks in advance

@tg404 Currently RE705X is compatible with EasyMesh, through which you can achieve the goal you said, and you may check if the router support EasyMesh. If yes, you need to turn on the EasyMesh option on the configuration page, referring to https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/3582/

If the router you bought is not compatible with EasyMesh, you could consider a new EasyMesh router, referring to https://www.tp-link.com/easymesh/product-list/

Hey there @tg404

What you're describing is called “Seamless Roaming” or “Fast Roaming”, which is the part of OneMesh/EasyMesh features.

If you're using a TP-Link router with your RE705X, then you should be able to use OneMesh to create a mesh network between them if the router supports that feauture.

If you're using another manufacturer's router, then check whether it supports EasyMesh feature.
