Model: Deco X73-DSL
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.0.9

My current setup does not quite reach some smart lights located in my shed and I am looking to add one more unit to get more range. I am looking for the most cost effective unit as all I am trying to reach are smart lights (Nothing that requires high speeds).

I have a X73-DSL and X73 satellite unit;

Can I add a X50 AX3000 to achieve the range?

What would be some issues if any?

Is there a cheaper alternative?

Thanks for any advice :)

Deco X50 is a good choice as an addition to your Deco mesh. There should not be any issues adding it and running together with X73.

The most budget friendly Deco model consistent with you current WiFi mesh is Deco X20.

I would also suggest checking prices for X60, if it is on sale for less than X50/X20 you can buy it without any concerns.

I would also suggest to check X50-POE. While it is unlikely to be the cheapest of them all, its form factor allows it to be wall mounted or ceiling mounted. In case you need that feature for optimal placement of new Deco unit, X50-POE is what you should buy.
