Hello.

I have 2 Deco X20 meshed together perfectly.

Recently, we started using our shelter and it has very thick walls.

When the shelter door is open all is well and the X20 coverage is reasonable.

However when closing the metal door the signal is too weak.

I do have an LAN point inside the shelter. I went and bought a new Deco M4 and connected it to the LAN point.

However, it does not seem to be using the LAN point but seems to be meshing with the other network.

So still, when closing the door I have a weak signal.

How can I tell the M4 to act as a router and use the LAN point?

Thank you in advance!

  @Alexandre.

Thank you!

I switched to access mode operational mode and it seemed to have solved the issue

  @zilbi

I am assuming you checked Ethernet cable and it does not have issues. If you haven't checked it, you should do that: connect something to that cable (laptop, etc.) and see if it gets Internet access and if it negotiated gigabit speed over that cable.

After you confirmed Ethernet cable is good, take a look at this TP-Link FAQ document: General questions about Ethernet Backhaul feature on your Deco
