Hello, 

 

I have a Archer A8, with a strange problem after the last firmware update

I have several iot devices (switches, lights, wifi thermostats, wifi speakers.. ) for wich i assigned static ipdresses, are not getting the static lease ip address that is configured on the router. Mainly, the problem is after a reboot, several devices are getting ip 0.0.0.0

 

I dont use the IOT network, the devices are not isolated

 

I tried setting the dhcp lease from 10.0.0.2-10.0.0.250, same result

I tried setting the dhcp lease outside the address reservations (10.0.0.200-10.0.0.230), same result

 

 

The address reservation exists, as shown :

Please advise

Hi, will those IoT devices still work when the IP addresses show 0.0.0.0? If so, maybe the IP addresses displayed are incorrect, they are actually getting correct IP address. 

You could also reserve an IP address for a computer and check if there is any similar issue, if so, compare the IP addresses on the client list of the router and also checking its IP on the computer itself for comparison: How to find IP address on your devices

  @Sunshine no, the devices with ip 0.0.0.0 are displayed as offline, i have no ping to them (tried pinging the static ip that is set on the router)...

My macbook and laptop, does not even connect to wifi network if not getting a valid ip address...

If i set a static ip address on the macbook, all is ok, also the router shows the manual ip address correctly...

Hi, when your macbook and laptop use DHCP to obtain IP address, and if you configure address reserveation for the macbook and laptop, do you mean they are always unable to connect the WiFi after the router reboots? how would they reconnect?

  @Sunshine the lease problem is sporadic, not always

If i reboot the router several times, eventually is ok

If i don't reboot, and i set a static ip address on the mac or laptop, the internet/network is ok

The problem is mainly with the iot devices,  i can not set a static ip on the devices, so i rely on the static lease that is handed out by the router...

Switched temporarily to a C6U, without any issue for now, even after several reboots!

Any beta firmalware for the A8 for testing?

Well, since the supoort is almost ZERO for this issue, OPENWRT is the way, no issues at all!
