Model: Archer C3150
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 2.2.0 0.9.1 v005f.0 Build 220330 Rel.57074n

For wired connections, I can address my devices using a local ID, eg. 'homeassistant.local'.

However, as soon as I unplug my laptop, therefore using WiFi, 'homeassistant.local' does not work anymore. Only ip-based addressing works.

This goes for *any* device.

Does mDNS work with WiFi and if so, how can i enable it?

Thanks in advance for the answer.

  @Szjoin

Normally the mDNS doesn't distinguish wired or wireless connection, it might be related to special settings on the wireless adapter of your laptop.

Or you could also add a new entry in the hosts file of your laptop:

IP address homeassistant.local

Note: IP address should be the real IP address of that device you are trying to access.
