Model: Archer AX90
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have AX90 V1.2 Canadian version,

Not able to swtich to 160 Mhz bandwidth. It is not shown in the list for bandwidth selection on both 5Ghz bands.

Any solution to this?

  @Vish_9685

This sounds really odd cause according to its specs AX90 should support 160Mhz channel width on one of its 5GHz bands:

Can you post a screenshot fron the router's WebGUI ?

Here is GUI image as asked.

@Sunshine

i am not sure that you got chance to look at my query! In mean time I got following response from TPlink support team

"I will explain how the 5G networks have been designed and working on Archer AX90. Firstly, please be aware that channel 120-128 are reserved for weather radar in Canada and Australia, and they are not allowed to be used by other equipment.

Archer AX90 supports 160MHz on its 5G-2 Wi-Fi only, 5G-1 doesn’t support 160MHz as per its hardware design. If 5G-2 is required to work on 160MHz, the router needs to bind all the channels from 100 to 128. However, as stated already channel 120 to 128 are not allowed to operate on the routers in Canada and Australia, thus you will not get 160MHz.

Thank you for your kind understanding"

It quiet surprising and shameful that product is sold in Canadian market with misleading specifications printed on box.

if Tplink is already awre that 160 Mhz is not going to work in Canadian region then why they sell it saying 160 MHz bandwidth.

I lost all trust in this brand.

An odd hardware limitation in AX90 as can be seen from the tech support response.

If 5G-1 was the band with 160Mhz (channels 36-64) for Canada and Australia this probably could have been better - check this story.

thanks for sharing this. It's helpful to understand.

I am heavily disappointed with TPlink as its basic product design mistake and still selling the product with misleading info.
