Problem with TP-LINK TX401
Problem with TP-LINK TX401
Hi TP-Link Community,
I've bought 2 TP-LINK TX401 (10Gbit PCIe Network Adapter).
One installed into my Desktop PC and another to my NAS (using UnRAID).
The adapter in my UnRAID machine is working just fine.
The adapter installed into my PC (using Windows 11) has 2 problems:
- It's disconnects from the network every 30m-1hr. The only way to make it connect again is to disable the card and enabled it again or to reboot the machine.
- The speed is not 10Gbit. I'm getting 6.5 Gbit/s using iPerf3.
Now, first thing I would like to solve is the disconnection issue. I've already updated the card to the latest Marvell firmware available (3.1.8.0).
I've experimented several drivers releases (from TP-LINK and Marvell too). None solves the issue.
What else can I do to solve the problem?
PS: The adapter in the NAS machine is working normally.
Regards,
MrFroggy

@MrFroggy I woudn't have thought to check the cable, it's new from a year or so ago. I'll pick up a new cable and try it out. Thanks for the quick response.

@MrFroggy I swapped out the cable for new cat8 network cables. It seems to be ok and stayed connected while I was out of town for the weekend. Now that I'm back and using my PC, it has started disconnecting again. I think I've narrowed it down a bit, I'm able to consistently reproduce the disconnect by loading up a youtube video. Within 1-2 minutes of starting a video on youtube, the network card will disconnect and I have to restart the adapter. No other web browsing or file transferring seems to cause the issue, just youtube.

Are you using Windows 11? If so, post here your TP-LINK driver version. Should be "3.1.10.0" or later.
To download this version, check: https://www.marvell.com/support/downloads.htmlAQC107
Do you have "VPN Pulse Secure" installed? If so, check this topic:

If any possible solution described above works, try these tests:
- Try to run a PING with the following command and capture the output after 5 min. Run command "ping -t -f -l 1024 www.google.com"
- Do you have any other PC connected to yout network with a 10Gbe card? If so, you should run a IPERF3 test to check the connection between the two PCs.
