Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.6 Build 20240407 rel.43274(4555)

Hi all,

I'm currently running an AX73 v1. I've since bought another AX73 to use as an access point, but this is a v2. Can I back up the settings from the v1 and restore them on to the v2 to use the new one as my main router and the v1 as the access point? Is everything backed up so I could basically unplug the v1 and install the v2 in its place?

Thanks

That's a good question which can't be answered definitively. Sometimes even on the same HW version but with different FW

release the router configuration can't be restored.

So your best bet would be to backup (take notes manually) your router configuration, just in case that doesn't work for you.

Just as @terziyski has said it would be best to do a backup config of your "current" v1 main router and note down your ISP info (username and password etc) and any other specific changes you`ve made on a notepad first then use the "quick setup" on the advanced tab to input your ISP info again on the new V2 ax73 router purely so no conflict with v1/v2.....then you can reset v1 router completely with the pin method on back of router and change router to access point mode. That should work fine......once your happy with the setup you can make a backup config of both routers.
