I have a Powerline adapter connected to the Virgin Media superhub. The powerline LED (the middle one) on it stays red, meaning data rate of 48mbps. When I switched it off and turned on again, it goes green, but turns red again.

What does this mean, and do I need to do anything about it? Does it affect the speed of the connection? I have a 120mbps broadband through Virginmedia but the best speed I am getting on the powerline connected PCs is 45 to 48 mbps. When connected to superhub through a Ethernet cable the speed is more like 75mbps.

Many thanks in anticipation,

MSIN

PS: TP-link support say it does not matter what the LED colour is

Use Guide says red means low speed. but the speed may also be affected by the powerline system in your house.
perhaps plug the adapter directly to the wall socket, or different ones can solve this.
