Hi everyone.

My Telstra Smart Modem failed this morning and with the kids being annoyed about the lack of internet, while I organised a new modem to be sent my way I acquired a VR2800 2nd hand.

It's been reset and somewhat connected but I can't figure out how to actually put in login settings. Does anyone have any kind of guide to connecting the modem to my Telstra based (Australia) internet line? Tried a bunch of things so far including

- Selecting Telstra (ADSL)

- Selecting other, then a VDSL connection and trying to manually input

And variations of the above and getting no where.

Would love some advice but I think i've got a niche issue!

Thanks,

Damon

Hi, welcome to our community.

If you have a NBN box, according to my experience, the Archer VR2800 should be set up as wireless router mode instead of DSL modem router mode.

The two guides below may help you to confirm how to access the internet from your ISP:

General Questions about NBN Network in Australia and New Zealand
How to setup TP-Link DSL modem router on Tether App

If it is still hard to understand, it is sincerely suggested to contact technical hotline support for direct help.
