I have just bought a pair of Deco XE75 units.

I have also bought a 3 pack of Deco S4's, as I believe these can daisy chain off the XE75's for more remote rooms.

I have a lot of AC1000 powerline devices that I am in essence replacing with this new mesh, but I still have a few devices I would rather power off of the AC1000. I do NOT want to use the AC1000 for backhaul as it's too slow.

Is there a way of using the powerlines just as they were intended, to be an ethernet over power extender to a remote TV? Or will they only work with the Deco's as backhaul?

I have my old router where powerline did all my TVs, and if I move this to the "main" XE75 then nothing works cabled. Is there a way to disable backhaul so they work as I believe they normally do?

Hi, welcome to our community.

Sorry, I am a little confused about your needs. Only Decos can set up Deco mesh network. So devices like your AC1000 powerline devices cannot join Deco mesh network or set up any backhaul with Decos, I am afraid.

You may consider set up your AC1000 powerline devices as normal network extenders.

Please share more details if you need further suggestions or you may contact local technical hotline for direct help.

Good morning

I have tried to use it as a network extender, as that's the exact usecase I want. I've used AC1000's for years as a network extender, but it doesn't work with the deco.

My setup is

fibre line in > XE75 (via PPPoE) > AC1000 > AC1000 > TV

The TV just says no internet, as does any other device plugged in.

How do I use the AC1000 as a network extender when one end is plugged into an XE75? It simply doesn't work on any of the 4 plugs (rotated around for testing), For clarity I am plugging the AC1000 into the main router where the RJ45 from the FTTP link goes into it also.
