Trouble connect Ipad air to TL-WPA4220 extender

[Hi everyone been using TP-Link PA411KIT AV500 all around the house and very happy with them. My daughters Ipad air you need to be wireless so I bought WPA4220 range extender but it has never connected upstairs? Downstairs it picks up Virgins super hub no problem. I updated the firmware on the PA411 kit (computer is directly under the VM hub) but nothing. I was wondering if it was in the Ipads settings but what I know about settings you could write on the back of a stamp!
