TL-WA830RE web 192.168.0.254 stops responding after minutes (no http, telnet, ping)
Region : Argentina
Model : TL-WA830RE
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I just bought a TL-WA830RE wireless repeater. I connected the device to a computer with IP 192.168.0.10/24 using a wired connection.
I succesfully configured the device through web interface ( http://192.168.0.254) to repeat a wireless network.
The problem is that after one or two minutes the web interface stops responding, I tried to connect from wired and from wireless side with no luck.
The rest continues working just fine: Internet access, LAN access, everything. The only issue is that 192.168.0.254 does not answer anymore.
If I restart the device it works for some minutes and then stops responding again (no http, telnet or ping access).
Just in case the wireless network I'm repeating is interfering in any way I reset the device and just leave it connected through the wired connection to the computer (since it was reset it couldn't connect to any wifi network) but the same happened.
I tested several times to "ping 192.168.0.254 -t" after turning off and on the device and of course nothing changed: eventually device stops answering the ping, however if I ping any other device on my LAN I receive response.
I believe this couldn't be related to a thermal issue since it happens very quickly after turning it on and also because everything else continues working.
I see there is no other firmware to upgrade on the Tp-Link site but the original one.
Does anybody had the same issue? Is there anything I'm missing?
Do you see any solutions besides taking it back to the provider?
Thanks in advance.
