Firmware... ftp question

Hey!
First of all i would like to ask ... are the wr1043n and wr1043nd the same model/compatible?
The reason i write this post that i would like to ask how can i set-up an ftp server on my wr1043n ....there is no such option on the managemen site of my router.
Is it possible a frimware upgrade could help? If so where can i find a firmware for 1043n (related to first question : are they the same/compatible)
Dyndns etc....already set up....
