WR-710N - Slow WISP Access
Region : UnitedKingdom
Model : TL-WR710N
Hardware Version : V2
Firmware Version :
ISP :
I am trying to use the WR710N router to connect to a BT-FON wifi network. If I connect directly without going via the router I receive download speeds of 5 Mbps. If I connect via the router in WISP mode, download speeds drop to a slow 0.5 Mbps.
Both the BT-FON wifi network and router are on channel 6 and it does not seem possible to change the local wifi channel of the router in WISP mode. In case it was due to interference, I connected my laptop to the LAN port of the router and disabled the local wireless access but the speed was still slow. I bought the WR710N to upgrade a WR702N which successfully allowed connections to the BT-FON wifi network at full speed in bridge mode and disappointed that the WR710N is not able to offer the same speeds.
Hoping for any suggestions?
Many thanks,
Dan
