One Wan, Two Subnets TD-W8960 V4
Region : Australia
Model : TD-W8960N
Hardware Version : V4
Firmware Version :
ISP :
Have TD-W8960 V4 with latest FW, working well with PPPoE Wan internet access on office Lan.
Need to add one workstation to my existing office lan. This is to house another backend of a database and the software support say I need to put this database backend on the LAN under a different subnet (presumably so that the database software will not pickup the databse backend that already exists on the office subnet 192.168.1.0/24. So I wish to set up a workstation with an IP of 192.168.2.254 (can be static) and allow all workstations on 192.168.1.0/24 to access 192.168.2.254. Looks as though this may be able to be done with interface grouping? but TPLink userguide is limited and gives no examples. The two subnets don't need to be isolated from each other.
Would also like the 192.168.2.254 workstation to have internet access via the exisiting PPPoE on the TD-W8960N (192.168.1.1)
Can this be done with this TD-W8960N ? interface grouping ? add static routes ( have a feeling the internet access on the 2nd subnet is a problem)
In this FAQ on static routes

using a second router is this doing what I want to do? Is this a better (only ) way of doing this?
The WAN of the 2nd router seems to be connected to a local network, What is the local network subnet value?
thanks for advice
