Hi,
Im in practice in a new work and here i have an old Tp-Link which i dont know if it works or not. Im practising with it.
So first of all i did it a hard reset, and tried to connect directly from my PC (configuring the ip and mask on same net as default ip after the hard reset), and it didnt work! so i change the cable to a crossover one, and it didnt work again! So i tried to connect with the same PC via wireless doing the same steps and it worked!
The problem is that im thinking that maybe the Lan port is break down and dont work anymore. Keeping this in mind of course i cannot configure it correct to be an AP, so i try to configure it as a Universal Repeater, all works fine but i have an ip problem issue (ip conflict) in all the computers connected to that wireless net (it dont care if the PC are more near to the tp-link or to the original router. I check the eventvwr.msc and it says that the problem is with the MAC of my TP-link in all the PCs for the ip that is given to each of that pcs to work locally.
Anyway, my doubt is if there is any way to know if the Lan port of the Tp-Link is broken, because is very strange that i cannot direct connect to it.
P.D: my steps are simply go to my net card of the local PC and put ip 192.168.1.102 and mask 255.255.255.0 i dont put nothing on the gateway (but i have also tried with 192.168.1.254), and it dont work with direct cable and with croosover cable. If i do exactly the same on the wireless card of the same computer it connects via wireless to the tplink without any problem. The ip of the tplink after the hard reset is 192.168.1.254. Please help!
P.D.2: is normal that the MAC of the Lan is the same as the MAC of the wireless for the Tp-Link? because i have the same in both.
Thanks in advance.
