TL-MR3420 + D-Link DWM-156 Works but...

TL-MR3420 + D-Link DWM-156 combination works but with some problems:
1st the signal strength indicator never worked since I bought the router and twice upgraded the firmware. (very important info, so the placement of the router will be optimal)
2nd consistently losing internet access even if it is still "connected" especially when the speed picks-up (approx. 150kB/s+ only solution is to manually disconnect then re-connect)
3rd there are times that access to the router is slow or impossible whether thru wifi or lan (only solution is to wait or turn off/on if access is impossible)
