Hello there,

My ISP provides multiple WAN IP addresses. I just bought a TD-W8980 and am trying to replicate the configuration I had on my Draytek router.

I want to redirect SMTP traffic to/from one external IP address to a mail server inside my network. I therefore need to set up a virtual interface or alias on the WAN connection with the external IP address for my mail server. I then need to open specific ports on this external IP address and route the traffic to/from the internal mail server.

I have been through the FAQ entries but they relate to opening port(s) on the default WAN IP address and to not consider creating an alias and opening a port on this alias WAN IP.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

This is what you need? http://www.tp-link.com/en/article/?faqid=383
TD-W8980 is not capable of that function.

That's exactly what I need, Ada. Thank you.

I will return the router unless there's a way to do this on the command line. Can I SSH into this box?

I don't think so. Some TP-LINK modems have this feature. You'd better report it here and confirm with TP-LINK technicians.
